about

I wrote ‘Cold’ after falling victim to the unfortunate dating trend of ‘ghosting’. With the sudden loss of the relationship, I was trying to make sense of my feelings of obsession and confusion.
"Cold" introduces a darker, heavier side to Eilís' sound with massive drums and euphoric synths that blend seamlessly to create a powerful and emotional aura. The track gives room for Eilís' vocals to shine through, making it clear why she is one to watch in the industry.

lyrics

Half an inch of wine left on the countertop
A cold witness to my revolving thoughts
When will I embrace your warmth again?
The fires gone out and the cold seeps in
On to a pillow where my eyes leak a
string of fond memories

You used to tell me
Everything we had felt so complete
You polished through my tarnished gold
Then all you promised went cold

Pacing back and forth, back and forth on the creaking floor
Bending and breaking with the weight of it all
The ringing screamed to let me in
The silence so taunting
No answer to my questions
No closure just accept it

You used to tell me
Everything I touched was bittersweet
There are shades of blue in the love I show
Then all you promised went cold, cold

I write words to conjure meaning
Anything to make sense of this feeling
But the pages stare as blank as your face when you walked out
Inside these walls where we once dreamed
Hopes of a future, what could’ve been
Your ivy grows and now I’m living in your poison

So cold cold cold
So cold cold cold
So cold cold cold (you used to tell me)
So cold cold cold (you used to tell me)

Half an inch of wine left on the countertop
A cold witness to my revolving thoughts
